This page draws together available Township profiles from the General Administration Department (GAD), Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Department of Population (DoP), Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population (2014 Census data). These resources are also available on the respective department’s websites.

General Administration Department - 2019
This section includes GAD Township reports (2019) in Myanmar language. Each township profile consists of township maps, a brief history, geographical features, information on climate, economy, social and religious characteristics, and regional development. Reports have been produced for 323 of the total 330 townships. The missing townships are Mongmao, Pangwaun, Mongla, Narphan and Pangsang from Shan State.
2014 Myanmar Population and Housing Census
This section includes Census Township and Sub-township reports in both English and Myanmar, based on data from the 2014 Myanmar Population and Housing Census data. They were released by DoP in October 2017. Each report consists of census information such as Demographic Characteristics, Religion, Education, Economic Characteristics, Identity Cards, Disability, Housing Conditions and Household Amenities, Fertility and Mortality, maps and quick fact of individual township and sub township. Reports have been produced for 328 of the total 330 townships, and 82 out of total 83 sub townships. The missing areas are Buthidaung and Maungdaw townships and Taungpyoletwea sub township in Rakhine State.
