Detailed Information:
GiHA Working Group projects
The Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) project activities are co-managed by UN Women and UNFPA, as the co-leads of the GiHA Working Group in Myanmar.
The GiHA WG annual workplan outlines a range of activities through which the working group provides technical gender-mainstreaming support, including:
Capacity building for working group members and supporting their leadership roles across humanitarian coordination platforms.
Development of the Myanmar Gender Profile which is a reference document that supports clusters/sectors and other networks and stakeholders to understand the gender specific needs and challenges of people impacted by crisis and conflict in Myanmar.
Developing tailored GiHA toolkits and resources to support gender equal and inclusive programming in the complex and challenging Myanmar context. This has included adapting and innovating globally accepted standards and procedures (such as the rapid gender analysis process) to the unique challenges in Myanmar which includes lack of data and restricted access to affected populations.
