Detailed Information:
Focus on capacity strengthening
The GiHA Working Group has a focus on enhancing and building the skills, knowledge, and capacities of its members and other key stakeholders. This is achieved through regular training sessions for Working Group members, Inter Cluster Coordination Group members, women-led and women’s rights organisations, and local civil society organisations across the country. The training sessions include guidance on using the tools developed by the Working Group, such as the Myanmar Gender Mainstreaming Tipsheets and the Myanmar Observational Gender Review Toolkit, so humanitarian organisations, GiHA Working Group members and other humanitarian actors are supported to use these tools in their assessments and programming.
The capacity-building efforts reinforce the leadership of GiHA Working Group members, particularly in promoting gender inclusion and mainstreaming within the cluster/sector system. This initiative also aims to contribute to ensuring the UN in Myanmar’s Humanitarian Needs and Response Plans are gender responsive, and to enhance participation in the Humanitarian Programme Cycle (HPC) and inter-cluster/sectoral assessments.
