MIMU’s newly released Emergency Preparedness Dashboard allows key indicators relevant for emergency response to be viewed across townships. The dashboard was developed with publicly available information including the 2018 MIMU Vulnerability Analysis the, 2020 MIMU Baseline Dataset, the 2019 Inform Index for Myanmar and 2019/2020 IDP information from several sources.

Reports from 2020 and 2021 have indicated sharp increases in poverty in Myanmar following the COVID-19 pandemic and the events following February 2021. If unchecked, the combined effect of these two crises could push up to 12 million people into poverty and put as many as 25 million people – nearly half of Myanmar’s population – below the poverty line.

MIMU Analytical Briefs shine a light on topical, emerging and under-explored issues relevant to humanitarian and development support in Myanmar based on analysis of available information. The first Analytical Brief focuses on access to drinking water in Myanmar as a topic on which little information is available. It compares, for the first time, measurements of different levels of drinking water services between 2014 and 2019. It includes a report and infographic in Myanmar and English languages, a dashboard and the data compiled to prepare this Analysis to facilitate deeper exploration of the data by others.

The Monastic Education Dashboard provides an interactive view of monastic education in Myanmar for the period 2015/16 – 2019/20 based on available data. The dashboard provides a variety of statistics including the number of schools and students at the state, region and township levels.
The updated GAD Township Profiles are uploaded on the MIMU Township Profiles page, http://themimu.info/township-profiles.
The Township Profile Dashboard was updated with GAD Township Profiles 2019, Basic Education Statistics (2018-2019), Monastic Education Statistics (2017-2018), and IDP Statistics (July 2020). It gives an interactive view of statistics by sector and State/Region or township level based on information from various sources including the 2014 Population and Housing Census. This mapping tool uses MIMU Place Codes to enable the preparation of simple 'heat maps' to compare data from Excel spreadsheets across states/regions and townships. It can compare and contrast different indicators from larger, national datasets such as the MIMU Baseline Dataset, and can also be used with agencies' own information from different areas.
The new Excel Mapping Tool (version 2.0) introduces Leaflet JavaScript library, instead of using Excel built-in features to make heat maps. To view the result, a browser is needed (for example, Firefox or Google Chrome).
The dashboard is created based on Adjusted Vulnerability index from the MIMU-HARP report which considers vulnerability across Myanmar through a desk review and analysis of national datasets and information at the township level over the period 2014-2016.
It is a countrywide secondary data review of needs, coverage, and gaps with cross-sectoral analysis at TS level. It can be viewed via http://themimu.info/vulnerability-dashboard
The Monastic Education Dashboard gives an interactive view of monastic education in Myanmar, as of information shared by the Department for the Promotion and Propagation of Sasana, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture. The dashboard could provide information such as the number of schools, students and teachers from 2014 to 2018 at State/Region and Township level.

Using publicly available data and information, it seeks to address gaps in data analysis by bringing to light some of the differences and disparities across townships, countrywide, to support the design of effective programmes and policies.
